Knox Presbyterian Church - Weekly News and Events

Don't forget - Daylight Saving Time is this weekend!
Turn your clocks ahead when you go to bed on Saturday evening
so you won't miss joining us for worship on Sunday morning!

HELP!
We need to know who you are! If you picked up the church envelope box #28, please let us know who you are by contacting Grace in the office. We are looking for the user of Envelope number TWENTY EIGHT to be identified. You can call the office, send an email, or simply write your name on the back of the next envelope. Many thanks!

KNOX HAPPENINGS
Board of Managers will meet on Monday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Israel Trip Slide Show:  A number of people have asked Ann & Bob Lalonde to show their pictures from their recent trip to Israel. Come to Knox on Friday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. for Part 1.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) The Congregational Life Ministry Team and the Board of Managers have decided to purchase an AED for the church in order to best prepare to help in a heart emergency. These are now common in many public and community buildings.

An AED can be used by untrained people, but it is far better to have a trained person available. Our aim to have a cross-section of the Knox staff and congregation trained, but there is a per-person cost involved. To decrease these costs, if you have already been trained to use an AED, please let Grace know as soon as possible.

If you have not been trained, but would like to be, please also let Grace know -- we will select people for training to provide the broadest representation of the congregation.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Raising Healthy Teens Seminar:  Dr. Karyn Gordon, marriage and family relationship expert, will be leading this workshop on parenting.  Dr. Gordon will present seven strategies for raising healthy, balanced children.  As a Christian parent herself, Karyn has found ways to present her perspectives on parenting to a wide ranging audience.  For information on Dr. Karyn Gordon, check out her website www.dkbwellness.com.  Join us and invite your friends to this event on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m at "The Upper Room" of the Waterdown Legion Hall.  Event is sponsored by the Waterdown Church Network (Ministerial group).
